R. Scott Prosser
Fund Manager
Scott Prosser joined Conlon&Co in early 2008 as the Fund Manager for the Conlon Real Estate Opportunities Fund.
Mr. Prosser comes to Conlon from Gruss & Co., a privately-owned merchant bank where he worked as the Director of Real Assets with a primary responsibility of building and managing the real estate portfolio of a high-net worth family and their operating entities. Investments were primarily focused in New York City, Washington DC, South Florida and upper New England and included residential rent-regulated housing, unsold shares, apartment buildings, commercial office and timber assets. His second responsibility was working in support of Gruss Asset Management which ran 3 hedge funds where he assisted the funds by tracking real estate related public companies and valuing such as situations developed within the marketplace and hedge funds sought to make or exit positions.
Prior to joining Gruss & Co. Mr. Prosser was the principal and founder of real estate investment & development company RSP Development, which held properties in various locations along the east coast and focused on value-add investing and redevelopment strategies over the course of 10 years. Investments included apartment buildings, student housing, industrial warehouses & hospitality properties.
Other professional experiences have included working in corporate development for the strategic planning group at Marsh McLennan and performing as an investment banking financial analyst for Bear, Stearns & Co. in the firm’s global industries group.
Mr. Prosser began his career serving as an Airborne Ranger Team Leader for the United States Special Operations Command where he spent 5 years performing various missions across the globe. Additionally he served as an intelligence analyst including a 2-year assignment with the Defense Intelligence Agency.
Mr. Prosser graduated with a Masters of Science in Real Estate Development and Finance from New York University with top honors and is a LEED Accredited Professional. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University with a degree in international politics and a concentration in international law. He is also proficient in Spanish and studied abroad at the Universidad De Las Americas in Quito, Ecuador.
